Ten months after the building lot was cleared, the Warren family received the keys and moved ‘Home for Good.’ Boxley partners with Habitat for Humanity and donates volunteer hours and money to help local families in our community who need a hand up.
Amid Covid-19, Boxley employees spent the first volunteer day finishing up the framing work so that progress could begin on the more intricate details. Two months later, another volunteer day was requested due to the fast-approaching Home Dedication Ceremony.
“It was great getting to work on the same house twice a couple of months apart. We got to see the progress from our first volunteer day, to adding the finishing touches.” – Stacy Barbour (Fieldale Quarry Manager)
Frames got fitted, doors got installed, and paint was applied. As the day wound down and cleaning began to take the center of attention, the house started looking like a home. Although Boxley wanted to be a part of the presentation ceremony, COVID regulations posed new limits on the number of people that could get together. WSLS10, another sponsor of Habitat, was live on the scene, and was able to capture the Warren family’s reaction as they cut the ribbon and began exploring their new home.
Boxley remains dedicated to encouraging employees to get involved with volunteering events. If your organization needs volunteers, please email us. We will do our best to accommodate as many requests as we can.
