On July 30th, Boxley employees stepped away from their day jobs to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Geared with safety equipment, including masks, the team joined a handful of other volunteers to continue construction on the Roanoke, Virginia home.
“Boxley encourages us to give back to the community and help where we can. Days like this are just as good for our employees as they are for the family that we have the privilege of helping.” – Holly Yungwirth, Human Resources Assistant.
Our team split up and began tackling projects in the backyard, first floor, second floor, and outside. The day was spent closing off the shed roof, fitting a door into the empty doorway, marking studs, installing a bathtub and installing stabilization for the future attic ladder. The last project, framing the front path in preparation for concrete, finished right as a summer storm brought the workday to a halt.
Although Boxley, like every other company, is forced to do things differently this year, we are still committed to serving and giving back to our communities. If your organization needs volunteers, please reach out to contact@boxley.com. We will do our best to accommodate as many requests as we can.
