Boxley’s Lynchburg Block facility welcomed 13 members of Station 7 Fire & EMS Department for a tour and lunch on February 21st.

Boxley 360: Corporate Responsibility Program was awarded the 2019 Community Involvement Award from the National Asphalt Pavement Association.

This national award recognizes a company’s commitment to operations that make them good contractors, good industry ambassadors, and good neighbors. We are proud to be recognized for our commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen and a good neighbor.

Innovation and Sustainable Asphalt Solutions Key to Success

Boxley’s Asphalt division walked away with top awards at the Virginia Asphalt Association Mid-Atlantic Expo & Conference held this past December.

Boxley’s Rt. 460 Appomattox Bypass Rubblization project won the VDOT Lynchburg District Construction Paving Award and was runner up for the Best Construction in the State Award. Partnering with VDOT, Boxley employed an innovative and cost-effective asphalt solution to repair a stretch of highway in Appomattox where concrete slabs were rocking, creating a rough ride.

Boxley employees from multiple locations around Roanoke, Virginia spent their United Way Day of Caring with CHIP, Child Health Investment Partnership, of Roanoke Valley. CHIP believes that every child should have access to comprehensive healthcare services and community resources.

Our volunteers enjoyed bringing new life to the landscaping at CHIP’s location by weeding, mulching, and planting to create a welcoming entranceway for families who find themselves in need of CHIP’s services.

Boxley employees from multiple locations around central Virginia spent their United Way Day of Caring with Habitat for Humanity.  It is Habitat’s mission to bring people together to build and rebuild homes and communities while catalyzing new pathways to safe, decent, affordable housing.

Our volunteers were eager to apply house wrap and siding, as well as install windows and a door to the recipient’s new home.  Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has rehabilitated or preserved more than 800,000 homes and helped more than 29 million people.

In 2018, Boxley worked with the Virginia Department of Transportation to repair a stretch of highway in Appomattox where concrete slabs were rocking, creating a rough ride and requiring significant maintenance dollars to repair.

The 2.6-mile stretch of Route 460 was built to last 40 years but became noticeably unstable 10 years ago – less than 25 years after the initial project was finished. The concrete roadway began to fail after the joints opened allowing water to permeate concrete and drainage layers.
