Good Neighbor Policy
Boxley's Good Neighbor Policy
At Boxley, we believe being neighborly means proactively communicating about our operational activities, supporting neighborhood initiatives, maintaining our property to the highest standards and taking responsibility for our actions. We may not have a cup of sugar, but we will be there when you need us.
Have a question or concern? See something that requires attention? We want to know! Please contact us and ask to speak with the general manager.
Boxley’s Good Neighbor Standards:
As a Good Neighbor, we have adopted the following guidelines to ensure our plant is presentable and conveys a deep sense of pride in who we are and what we do:
We commit to:
- Knowing our neighbors and having an open-door policy
- Communicating proactively with our neighbors about our operations
- Supporting neighborhood activities that enhance quality of life
- Protecting and enhancing the environment through proactive and responsible natural resource management activities.
- Self-imposing legal load limits on all shipments out of our quarries
- Maintaining entrance roads that are dust-free
- Creating adequate visual screening of our operations with trees, shrubs and berms
- Reducing plant noise by using rubber screen cloth, plantings and berms
We keep a well maintained entrance:
- Frontage grass always mowed and trimmed
- Signs and flags always neat and crisp looking
- Windows washed
- Daily litter patrol of our entrance and main office areas
Being Neighborly
When we built the new entrance to our Blue Ridge quarry, we paid close attention to our environment and community. That's why we constructed enormous protective berms and created attractive landscaping.
Our Neighborhood open house gives us the opportunity to get together for some fun.
